Summary:

Tetra Tech’s Salt Lake City, UT office is currently seeking an experienced Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our high-performing team to continue providing top of the line client services. The Civil / Environmental Engineer will be responsible for field oversight, assist with engineering design development under the supervision of Senior Engineers, assist with project management tasks, correspond with clients to meet project needs, lead and conduct field tasks, and other duties as assigned. This position may offer hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the local SLC, UT office.

Your Role:

Assist Senior and Principal Engineers with engineering design development. Serve as field-oriented task leader on large and complex project, providing instruction or guidance to junior level staff. Grow our business by strengthening relationships with existing clients and supporting expansion into new markets. Prepare concise and clear written documentation of project activities in the form of field logs and notes, technical memoranda, and section of technical reports, as required. Develop engineering cost estimates. Develop bid specifications and contract documents as required. Assist Senior and Principal Engineers with remedial option evaluations. Lead and conduct field tasks associated with environmental sampling, geotechnical drilling, construction oversight, and site reconnaissance. Maintain strong problem solving, time management, and communication skills. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. 3 – 8+ years of relevant experience. Engineer In Training Registration. Demonstrated ability to lead and perform field data collection and construction oversight. An understanding of local, state, and federal programs, permits, and regulations related to solid waste, stormwater, and environmental remediation. Strong technical writing skills. Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel for data analysis. Experience with ArcGIS, HEC programs, and GOLDSIM is highly desirable. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D. Ability to travel and perform field work/oversight (approx. 50% of travel required). Ability to traverse large terrain carrying a 50lb pack, over uneven ground, in all weather conditions. A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
