Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Estimator to join our team at our main office in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding in heavy civil construction and some experience in estimating. This role involves assisting chief estimators with various tasks to prepare and manage bid packages, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide accurate project estimates.
ResponsibilitiesAssist chief estimators with quantity take-offs and project summaries for bidding.Prepare and manage bid packages.Attend pre-bid job walk meetings and site investigations.Prepare labor, equipment, and material project estimates.Procure subcontractor/bid quotes.Manage RFIs during the bid period.Manage cost controls and prepare resource-driven project schedules.Assist project managers in preparing change order requests.Maintain subcontractor relations.Deliver high-quality and competitive bid analysis.Essential Skills1-3years of civil construction experience.Experience in the field with some exposure to estimating.Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, and Teams.Experience with self-perform estimating.Additional Skills & QualificationsElectrical/utility experience is a plus.Experience with web-based estimating software like Procore or Proest is desirable.Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management is preferred.Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based (80%) with some fieldwork (20%). Travel is limited to Arizona, primarily within Phoenix or Tucson. The candidate will report to two chief estimators who will provide guidance and training in estimating. A company vehicle will be provided for field visits.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $110000.00/yr.

Plus (PPO+) plan. Basic or Enhanced Dental coverage is provided through Delta Dental. Vision
coverage is provided through EyeMed.
- Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) – You will be eligible to contribute pre-tax
dollars, up to a maximum amount of $3,200 per plan year to pay eligible health care expenses for
you and your dependents.
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) – You will be eligible to contribute pretax
dollars, up to a maximum amount of $5,000 per plan year, to pay eligible day care expenses
for your dependents.
- Employee Basic Life Insurance – One times your annual base salary provided at no cost to you
(up to $250,000).
- Employee Basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment – One times your annual base salary
provided at no cost to you (up to $250,000).
- Employee Supplemental Life Insurance – You will be eligible to purchase supplemental life
insurance coverage equal to one times your annual base salary.
- Dependent Life Insurance – You will be eligible to purchase coverage for your spouse and
eligible dependent children in the amounts of $5,000 or $10,000. Upon election, Pike will pay the
premium for the $5,000 benefit amount.
- Short Term Disability – If you are out for a non-work related injury or illness, you will be eligible
to receive your continued income for up to 26 weeks at no cost to you.
- Long Term Disability – If you are out of work for an injury or illness more than 26 weeks, you will be eligible to receive 60% of your weekly income. Pike pays the premium for this benefit for you.
- Supplemental Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) – You will be eligible to purchase AD&D in increments of $50,000, to a maximum of 10 times your annual pay or $250,000, whichever is less.
• 401(k) Retirement Plan – The Plan offers a variety of investment funds with various risk and return factors. You may elect to make contributions from 1% to 50% of your salary (subject to IRS contribution limits). Pike will match your pre-tax contribution as follows:
o Enrollment through year nine (9) of continuous employment – 100% match up to 3% of eligible pay;
o Year ten (10) through year fourteen (14) of continuous employment – 100% match up to 3.5% of eligible pay and match 50% of next 3% of eligible pay;
o Year fifteen (15 ) through year nineteen (19) of continuous employment – 100% match up to 4.0% of eligible pay and match 50% of next 3% of eligible pay;
o Year twenty (20) of continuous employment and beyond – 100% match up to 4.5% of eligible pay and match 50% of next 3% of eligible pay.
You become fully vested in the Pike match portion of your account when you have completed three continuous years of service with Pike; however, you are always fully vested in your own contributions to the Plan. The 401(k) enrollment material will be mailed shortly before your eligibility date.
