Purpose of the Role
Worley is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Field Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing on-site engineering expertise and resources during the construction phases of various projects. The Civil Field Engineer ensures that construction activities align with engineering designs, specifications, and industry standards, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions. By collaborating with project teams and stakeholders, this role supports Worley’s ambition of delivering sustainable change and driving innovative solutions across energy, chemicals, and resources sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and analyze engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with project requirements. Provide on-site technical expertise and resources, addressing any necessary design modifications or adjustments required to accommodate site conditions. Oversee construction supervision activities, ensuring adherence to approved plans, industry standards, and company specifications. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and key stakeholders to maintain effective communication and support smooth project execution. Make independent technical decisions on small independent projects and studies, considering financial, social, and environmental impacts. Conduct inspections and quality assessments of completed construction tasks to ensure they meet high-quality standards and align with design specifications. Identify potential risks or issues that could impact project timelines or deliverables and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates on construction progress and addressing technical challenges with innovative solutions. Maintain accurate documentation of construction activities, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings. Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to the enhancement of construction processes, procedures, and standards within Worley. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications / Skillset

A university degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, or a trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience. Demonstrated experience in a Field Engineer or similar role, preferably within civil, structural, or related disciplines. Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and best practices. Proficiency in interpreting engineering designs, blueprints, and technical specifications. Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capability to make independent technical decisions. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry standards applicable to construction projects. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support efficient project execution. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and precision in all aspects of work. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and perform in fast-paced environments. Willingness to travel to construction sites as required. Familiarity with project management software tools is an advantage.
