Scope of Responsibility: 

The Civil Foreman is the leader of a crew performing general construction activities, with an emphasis on using hand tools, operating heavy machinery, having the ability to understand and perform the layout of framing, have strong knowledge of concrete carpentry, conduct installation of various types of concrete building foundations and slabs, installation of conduit and trenching, and installation of aggregate roads and compounds.  The Civil Foreman demonstrates ability to perform all essential job duties and is responsible for training and directing Crew Members on the performance of such skills.  The Civil Foreman communicates daily with respective project manager regarding project progression and crew performance.  This individual shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of SABRE, “Client Service, Quality, and Safety” to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known.

 

Essential Job Duties:

Complete all necessary safety training provided by SABREComplete all necessary technical training provided by SABREAt all times, promote and maintain safe work practices as outlined in the SABRE Safety Manual, as well as other safety and quality directives issued by ManagementAbility to perform, train, direct, and oversee civil construction activitiesMaintain care of SABRE equipmentDemonstration of organizational skills in all tasksAbility to utilize intermediate computer skillsCommunication and coordination of all job related activities with SABRE Management/Crew MembersCommunication between SABRE Management, clients, and other onsite personnel

 

Position Requirements:

Direct crew by ensuring all work meets SABRE and customer standards, both in scheduling and job specificationsDirect crew in maximizing time spent on critical job functions to increase overall job profitabilityOperate hand and power tools with easeOperate trucks, trailers, and other equipment with easeLay out cell tower sites, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructureInstall and wire telecommunications equipment, installing breakers, making terminationsTrenching, laying fiber and conduitPour concrete pads, piers, pylons, block wall foundations, excavations, layout, forming, rebar placing and finishingSet and install pre-fabricated equipment buildingsInstall light industrial steel, i.e. h-frames, light postsRegular and on-time attendanceWork in your shift as scheduledGetting along with coworkers

 

    Physical Requirements:

Professional presentation by speech and in appearanceAbility to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testingAbility to travel extended periods of timeAbility to communicate fluently with all SABRE staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and customersAbility to operate machinery such as backhoes, mini excavators, and skid steersAbility to read blueprintsAbility to communicate fluently with Project Manager and other SABRE employeesPractice safe working procedures in compliance with OSHA regulationsAbility to learn from various instruction methods, as well as self-studyAbility to read and understand general job related documentsClass A CDL extremely desiredPrevious construction and/or construction industry experience preferredBending, squatting and stooping greater than 50% dailyLifting up to 80 lbs. as neededAble to stand for long periods greater than 60% daily
