Civil Hydraulic Engineer
Verdantas
Welcome to Verdantas, where innovation meets sustainability, and your career finds purpose. As a vital member of the Verdantas River Design and Fisheries team, you’ll be joining a group of world-renowned engineers, scientists, biologists, and knowledgeable support staff dedicated to pushing the boundaries of environmental consulting, sustainable engineering, and cutting-edge digital technology.
At Verdantas, we focus on supporting diverse industries, ranging from power generation, and manufacturing to critical infrastructure and defense. Our services encompass a breadth and scope not commonly found in one location. From conceptual design to detailed design, fisheries studies, stream restoration, sediment transport and geomorphic analyses, numerical modeling, field assessments, physical modeling, precision flow meter calibrations, and field testing – all of these specialized services are found within our Verdantas team.
Formerly known as Alden Research Laboratory, our team proudly stands as the cornerstone of North America’s oldest continuously operating hydraulic modeling and testing laboratories. Comprising world-renowned engineers, biologists, and laboratory specialists, our shared enthusiasm is dedicated to unraveling intricate flow-related engineering and environmental challenges.
We are seeking a **Civil Hydraulic Engineer** with 4-10 years of experience and a desire to tackle complex problems related to the flow of water and sediment in both engineered and natural systems. The successful candidate will have a strong fundamental understanding of environmental fluid mechanics, open channel flow, fluvial geomorphology, sediment transport, and turbulent mixing. Proficiency in numerical tools, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and hydrodynamic modeling, is required. Furthermore, the ability to understand a client’s problem, and to distill and concisely communicate creative solutions through excellent technical writing and high-quality graphics is necessary.
The candidate must be a team player with strong leadership qualities but be comfortable working independently. This position will work closely with the **Fort Collins, CO** office, where current staff have a range of in-office and **hybrid** work preferences.
