At Gannett Fleming, we're looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer or Surveyor to join our Houston, TX team. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in reviewing and analyzing survey documents and engineering drawings, providing essential technical support for our Right of Way R/W acquisition processes. We are looking for a candidate who will apply sound survey principles in planning, evaluating, and completing survey projects. In this role, you will review and approve field measurements and direct and assist with preparation of survey documents. Responsibilities:
Review and analyze engineering drawings, plans, and survey documents related to R/W acquisitions and encroachments.Provide technical support and answer survey questions related to R/W acquisitions for project teams.Collaborate closely with R/W Manager, R/W agents, surveyors, and other engineering staff to ensure accurate and efficient processing of survey information.Evaluate and verify the accuracy of survey data, metes and bounds descriptions, and easement documents.Work in an office-based setting to review incoming information from surveyors, ensuring all documents meet project requirements.Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to R/W projects.Maintain strong communication with project managers, R/W Manager, and R/W agents to provide insights and recommendations based on survey and engineering data.Education | Experience:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or surveying4+ years of experience in civil engineering, surveying, drafting and/or designing with a focus on R/W acquisition projects.Strong knowledge of surveying principles, easement documents, and ROW acquisition processes.Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings and survey and metes and bounds documents accurately.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.High attention to detail and strong organizational, time management, and writing skills.Working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).Company Overview:At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
