We work with customers on programs of all sizes—those spanning several smaller sites or spanning several thousand acres.  Besides building some of the nation’s largest utility-scale solar plants and installing more EV charging stations in California than any other contractor, we are dedicated to running a business that is environmentally responsible. ABOUT THE ROLEThe Civil Site Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all civil construction activities on-site to ensure the project is completed safely, on schedule, and in a quality manner. The Civil Site Manager will collaborate closely with subcontractors, project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards. This position is also responsible for coordinating with the Project Management and Site Management teams to ensure that civil subcontractors adhere to contract schedules, quality standards, and safety compliance. This includes reviewing P6 schedules with Site Management to optimize them, coordinating rolling schedules with subcontractors, and ensuring proper staffing for daily activities. The role involves providing technical guidance to Site Management and quality control teams, overseeing quality control processes for civil works such as grading, excavation, concrete, drainage, and roadworks, and promoting job site safety. Daily safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks are conducted, along with maintaining detailed records of civil site activities and managing scope changes. The Civil Site Manager reviews geotechnical and topographical reports, collaborates as a Civil SME with various project teams, and monitors subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to plans and safety requirements. Acting as the main point of contact between subcontractors, the engineering team, and project management, the role facilitates communication, participates in project meetings, identifies and mitigates risks, and ensures timely resolution of unforeseen challenges. Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level. (e.g., dept/peer review)Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. (Team Lead) ABOUT YOUWe are looking for a highly skilled professional with a strong understanding of all civil activities involved in planning, scheduling, and constructing utility-scale PV, BESS, and large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in civil drawings, specifications, and code requirements across various jurisdictions. Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills are essential, along with the ability to solve problems effectively. Proficiency in computer software and strong interpersonal skills are a must. The candidate should also have experience working in extreme environments, such as high heat, cold, and inclement weather, and be willing to travel within the contiguous U.S. WHAT YOU WILL GAINAs a Civil Site Manager at Cupertino Electric, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert in promoting job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards with civil contractors. You’ll sit in a unique position in our Energy group that allows you to oversee project activities and play in active role in ensuring contract and schedule compliance. You will actively practice one of our core values, Excellence, by working cross-functionally with the Site Management team and Project Management teams.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  Licensure/Certifications: OSHA 30 Required – Can be obtained up to 2 weeks after hire date. Experience: Prefer 5+ years of experience working in a civil construction environment. Prefer 5+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity. *Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
