A civil superintendent's job description includes a variety of responsibilities, such as:
* Planning and scheduling
Working with the project manager to plan and schedule activities, and budget time to meet deadlines
* Monitoring

Coordinating the efforts of various contractors, and liaising with engineers and architects
* Documentation
Completing daily diaries and logs of the work performed in the day
* Subcontractor management
Supervising the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
* Material delivery
Identifying and managing that specified materials are delivered on-site to meet project needs
Civil superintendents typically spend most of their time on construction sites. They need to have excellent communication skills, and in some cases, multilingualism can be an asset
