Transportation Design Engineer

Job Description: A leading engineering firm in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer with expertise in public projects, particularly in roadway and intersection design, and storm-water management.

Responsibilities include:

Roadway design, calculations, and geometric designManaging projects ranging from $500,000 to $3 million with timelines of 3-5 yearsLeading multi-discipline projects including storm water, sewer, waterlines, staging, and traffic controlBusiness development responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing moderate to large-scale projects and independently oversee smaller projectsAdhere to local or ASHTO standardsExecute design tasks for state and local municipal public works projects, as well as private development projectsManage project tasks independently, juggle multiple assignments, and ensure ongoing communication with project managersReview junior staff designs, coordinate with subconsultants, maintain project schedules and budgets, and ensure client satisfactionUnderstand project scopes and budgets, supporting the project manager in delivering projects within defined success metrics

Skills Required:

Professional Engineer LicenseKnowledge of ODOT/WSDOT standardsProficiency in roadway and intersection designFamiliarity with AASHTO StandardsProficiency in AutoCAD, InRoads, or Civil3D

Location and Schedule:

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days from homeAbout Actalent
