CL Sr. Placement Specialist

General Description: Provide expert technical support to clients and members of Commercial Lines Account Management and Sales Executive teams through the MidAtlantic Region. Analyze, design, market, price, and place risks. Make fact-based recommendations to clients to solve their most complex insurance issues.

Responsibilities:

Critical focus on Mergers & Acquisitions: Provide detailed reports focusing on all Property & Casualty lines of coverage as part of an insured’s or a prospective client’s M&A deal. Must be able to evaluate current coverage terms and provide proposed solutions post-close. Coordinate and lead the effort across the Technical Resources team in preparing and finalizing the deliverable. May need to handle or assist on the post-close placement for all lines.Assist the sales teams to coordinate responses for Request for Proposals (RFPs).Create and coordinate pre-renewal strategy and stewardship meeting presentations. Make recommendations for improvement. Ability to understand client financial statements preferred. Support Sales Executives in providing data and proposals (including detailed marketing summary) for prospective clients.Assess clients’ contractual liabilities and alignment with their insurance policies and make recommendations for improvement.risk profile using analytical models and resources. Negotiate underwriting terms and pricing with carrier underwriting partners on behalf of clients. Responsible for complete and accurate documentation including real-time filing in ImageRight.and Account Management teams.Additional projects and duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

10+ years in a Commercial Lines agency with underwriting and technical experience. Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.Must hold or be willing to earn Property & Casualty insurance license within 90 days.Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.  Working knowledge of internet-based programs. Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction. Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate work. Ability to maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.  Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
