EPLI Segmentation, Claims Examiner
Key Objective:
Under direct supervision initially, receives assignments and reviews claim and policy information for excess employment practices liability matters. Responsible for maintaining claim inventory.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop skills to handle a caseload of excess employment practices liability claims, including evaluating coverage, documenting file, and closing files when appropriate.
Develop customer relation skills to allow for communication directly with agents, insureds, clients, claimants and other customers
Become educated in general legal and insurance principals
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of insurance industry
Basic knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, and procedures
Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Analytical, Detailed Oriented
Customer focus – responsive with an appropriate sense of urgency
Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with others on an external and internal basis.
