Our Berkley Crime division provides crime related insurance products to commercial organizations, financial institutions and governmental entities. 

 

All products are underwritten on an admitted basis on behalf of W.R. Berkley Corporation member insurance companies, which carry A.M. Best and S&P A+ ratings and A.M. Best Financial Size Category XV.

Responsibilities Under supervision, handles management liability, fidelity and crime claims including those involving questions of coverage, legal liability and damages.Handle some more serious claims utilizing experts and outside firms as required.Perform investigations in a timely and thorough manner to ensure accurate decisions on coverage, liability and damage issues affecting claim resolutions.Manage existing workloads effectively to achieve quality and quantity production goals and provide superior customer service.Manage outside counsel in connection with litigationPerform initial assessment for recoveryRegularly communicate with customers, agents and brokersInvestigates all assigned claims and analyses coverage applicability/limitationsSets appropriate reservesPrepares reports and obtains authority to increase reserve in excess of authorityManages disposition of claims and issues appropriate payments on all assigned claimsDetermine when appropriate to retain outside counselMaintains required logsMaintains proper diary on all open files and records all file activity in file notesMaintains appropriate state licensesprovides input in roundtable discussions.Attend settlement conferences, trials and mediations on a regular basis.Effectively negotiate with insureds and third parties, listening carefully to demands and using an objective approach to resolve the claim fairly.Inform other departments of positive/negative conditions noted during investigations which may impact company results.Participate in special account reviews and present agents and insureds Qualifications College degreeLaw DegreeObtain and maintain necessary adjusting licenses within 90 days3 to 5 years Management Liability/Fidelity claim experience or significant claim multi-lines handling experience or equivalent experience in a law firm providing coverage advice or handling coverage litigation with an emphasis on crime, fidelity, and/or management liability claimsResult-orientedStrong commitment to the WRBC/Berkley Financial Specialists cultureExcellent Team PlayerExcellent Communication SkillsInnovatorWillingness to assume tasks, even if they are outside the actual job descriptionAbility to multi-task and prioritizeSelf-starter with good negotiation skillsAbility to respond to time deadlines in an environment with heavy volume and changing prioritiesOrganized, creative, persistent and enthusiastic

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
• Base Salary Range: 88k-$140k
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
