Claims Examiner

The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic and diverse claims team in Toronto handling a wide range of business lines, including Casualty, Property, Motor, Professional Indemnity and Cyber.

In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise, ideally across more than one of our lines of business. Your key responsibilities will include investigating, managing, and resolving claims in an accurate, pro-active manner, ensuring compliance with SLAs and agreed authority levels.

Your New Role:

Investigate, manage, and resolve claims efficiently and in a timely manner.Ensure adherence to SLAs and authority limits while managing claims.Support the implementation of the Claims strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets.Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments.Reserve accurately to ensure that the Company’s liability is always clearEnsure that messages, advice, and correspondence, are responded to pro-actively and within agreed timeframes to provide a professional service to brokers and clientsProactively manage estimates and billings calculated by client’s service providers and brokers resolving any discrepancies.Regular interactions with key stakeholders including our customers, brokers and internal partnersManage disputed Claims and other material Claims issues in order to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis.

About you:

Experience in handling Casualty Claims is preferred but property experienced would also be considered.Coaching and mentoring skillsCurrent knowledge of compliance, regulatory and statutory requirementsOrganisational, investigative, analytical and negotiation skillsAbility to make balanced and impartial judgementsExcellent communication and presentation skillsRelationship Management skillsAble to use MS Office applications and strong IT skills
