**Job Title:** **Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation** **Location:** **Remote (Must reside in California)** **Duration:** **30-Dec-2024 - 29-Mar-2025** **Target Pay: $50** **____________________________________________________________________________________________** **Primary Purpose** The Workers' Compensation Claims Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex or technically challenging workers' compensation claims to determine benefits due. This role involves managing high exposure claims that may involve litigation and rehabilitation, ensuring ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements. The analyst will also identify subrogation opportunities and negotiate settlements. **Manager Notes:** + **Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (3+ years of California WC experience)** **Essential Functions and Responsibilities** + Analyze and process complex workers' compensation claims by investigating and gathering necessary information to assess claim exposure + Develop and implement action plans to manage claims towards timely and appropriate resolutions. + Negotiate settlements of claims within designated authority limits. + Calculate and assign timely reserves to claims, ensuring reserve adequacy throughout the claim's lifecycle. + Calculate, approve, and make timely claim payments and adjustments. + Prepare necessary state filings within statutory limits. + Manage the litigation process to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of claims. + Utilize cost containment techniques, including strategic vendor partnerships, to minimize overall claim costs for clients. + Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and offsets related to Social Security and Medicare. + Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional manner. + Communicate claim activity and processing updates with claimants and clients while maintaining professional relationships + Ensure proper documentation of claim files and accuracy in claims coding + Refer cases to supervisors or management as appropriate. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. + Professional certification relevant to the line of business preferred. + Minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Expertise in insurance principles and laws relevant to the line of business handled, including recoveries, offsets, deductions, claim duration, and cost containment principles.If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
