ResponsibilitiesClaims Director will be responsible for directing work of Claims Adjusters on property/casualty claims, who determine liability, secure and obtain information and data, review coverage, arrange property damage appraisals and reserve and settle claims based on claim standards and practices.
Key Functions will include but not be limited to:
Participate in the development of the strategic plan for ClaimsApply claims and target market knowledge to identify how the organization can meet customer claim service needsManage claim department resources to deliver customized claim service that is specific to the customer's business needsContribute to profitability by effectively implementing Claims Best Practices to manage loss payments and claim expenses to achieve best financial resultDrive automation of key processes to realize cost, time, and accuracy and/or quality improvementsWork cooperatively across claim teams to ensure coordination of services and sharing of best practicesHelp establish, monitor and adhere to claim and corporate operations budgetDevelop, implement and monitor office workflowsProvide technical oversight and direction for the highest level complex claim matters in specified area of responsibilityReview and respond to authority requests from Claim professionals on supervised claim mattersPartner with claim leadership to develop and drive claim resolution strategiesProvide subject matter expertise on claim technical and litigated issuesAct as key decision maker in determining the value of claims, development of resolution strategies and identifying what resources are needed to execute that strategy and ultimate the manner of dispositionHelp produce business opportunities with major customer/producers in conjunction with underwriting unitDevelop strategic customer/producer relationships; develop relationships with contacts with specialized expertise who can be called on for assistance and who will alert CCIG to developing issuesIdentify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the external environment, looking forward 2–5 yearsRecommend changes to policies, systems, products/services to leadership teamEnsure that appropriate documentation, implementation and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed for area of responsibility; regularly monitors and evaluates activities to identify potential risks and issues of non-compliance.Oversee use of performance management process in area of responsibility and complete performance management cycle for direct reportsImplement people management strategy and resource plan to support the businessOptimize staff development and retention in area of responsibilityMaintain strict confidentiality of all aspects of the position Qualifications Bacheros degree8+ years of commercial auto1+ years managementSelf-motivated and results oriented Additional Company Details We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external recruiting agencies or firms.
