Under general supervision, the CDL Driver will perform regularly scheduled transportation runs to move materials. The position requires knowledge of shipping and receiving logistics such as shipping bills, and parcel receipts. The safe movement of hazmat materials is required and the Driver must possess a valid Hazmat Endorsement on their CDL Class A license.

Responsibilities Drive company vehicle to pick up and deliver outgoing mail and packages from client site and/or other locations within established time frames, per directions givenObtain proof of delivery for each package (signature, printed name, date and time)Notify Supervisor/Dispatcher about any problems or delays in delivering or picking up a packageNotify Supervisor/Dispatcher upon completion of assigned runsProperly account for petty cash expendituresPerform other duties as requested by Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or Supervisor/DispatcherOrganize own transportation to deliver packages as neededMeet customer requirements and resolve any customer issues as neededMay be required to fill in as Dispatcher if need arises

 

Qualifications High School Diploma or comparable work experienceValid U.S. Driver's License with a clean driving record Previous driving experienceNot required but a plus in case employee needs to fill in as dispatcherAbility to ensure that quality and production standards are metAbility to meet deadlines and understand the time issues involved with package deliveriesAbility to prioritize and work with co-workers, supervisors and customersAbility to resolve customer issues and take responsibility for work performedGood customer service skills, professional attitude and appearance a mustGood communication skillsGood team player
