Responsibilities Contribute to the structure and stability of the classroom by helping students stay on task and focused within the classroomUse behavioral and clinical techniques to support the mental health needs of our clients; this can include working with students on skills such as anger management, coping with frustration, and interacting positively with peersCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Special Education Teachers, School Therapists, and School Leadership to promote a school environment where students' therapeutic, community, and academic needs are metFoster curiosity and creativity in students by sharing your skills and interests in sports, art, games, nature exploration, and other fun activitiesParticipate in weekly supervision to expand your skills and receive ongoing guidance and supportCommunicate effectively with all staff and caretakers who are involved in the daily life of the student.Provide crisis intervention for students when necessary, using de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts; this may include physical management of clients and implementation of Seneca's Equilibrium Training Qualifications Education/Experience requirements:Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree and one year of relevant experience OR High school diploma and two years of relevant experience Experience working with youth in a mental health or classroom-facing setting Must be at least 21 years of ageValid California Driver's License Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirementsProof of COVID-19 vaccination Schedule School based schedule:Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4:30 PM5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid school break days Benefits Now hiring for the upcoming academic year!Starting at $24.72 -$27.22 per hourAs of July 7th, this starting range will increase to $25.46 -$27.96 per hourActual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the roleAdditional compensation may be provided upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam Salary increases each year Comprehensive employee benefits package:Medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, acupuncture, and fertility coverage50% paid premiums for dependants Family leave, life insurance, and long-term disability 403b retirement plan Employer-paid Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) 5 weeks of paid time off and 11 paid holidaysAbundant professional development opportunities, including: Scholarship opportunities Substantially funded embedded Special Education and Social Work programs
