About This Role:

Coastline is seeking a Classroom Driver’s Education Teacher to join our growing organization and teach in-person driver’s education classes at our school. This individual will work independently to set up the classroom each day and present and educate students on driver’s safety. They will be solely responsible for teaching classes up to 35 students at a time.

Responsibilities include:

Set up the classroom each dayTake attendance Teach and educate student on drivers’ safetyGrade work and hold accountability with studentsClean classroom including wiping off materials, desks, taking out trashAdditional responsibilities as deemed appropriate by your supervisor

Required:

Teaching or leadership experience is preferred Presentation skills including strong verbal and written communication skillsProfessionalism with peers, supervisor, and studentsAbility to work professionally with students of all ages, abilities, and backgroundsBasic automotive knowledge Excellent organizational and interpersonal skillsIntermediate knowledge of computers and applications on cell phonesKnowledge of Google Suite is preferredAbility to maintain confidential information

Required Credentials:

Valid Illinois State Driver’s License Ability to become a licensed driving instructorHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentAbility to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting and standingMust be able to see and hear Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, touch, feelMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
