Our Health and Education (H&E) line of business provides comprehensive operational and maintenance services to various healthcare and educational facilities. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) in Adelaide.
About the Role:As part of our team at WCH, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the hospital is clean and well-maintained, providing a safe and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will work closely with other team members to undertake a range of cleaning services in line with hospital infection control standards and Downer policies. This position requires you to work autonomously and as part of a team, ensuring high cleaning standards are met in a healthcare environment.
This is a part time opportunity, you must be available to work Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 10:00am
Perform general cleaning duties, including floor care, dusting, wiping, and spot cleaning of walls, doors, bathrooms, and isolation areas. Ensure that all necessary cleaning supplies are available and maintain all equipment in good working order. Respond promptly to service requests and ensure adherence to the hospital's infection control policies and procedures. Uphold workplace health and safety standards, proactively identifying and reporting hazards or incidents. Actively participate in Zero Harm initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all. About you: Previous experience in cleaning within a healthcare environment (preferred). Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and procedures. Understanding of infection control practices and workplace health and safety. Strong attention to detail, high cleaning standards, and the ability to prioritise tasks. Ability to work across a range of shifts and adapt to varying start and finish times. Ability to function autonomously while maintaining high levels of professionalism, courtesy, and empathy when interacting with patients and staff.Why work for us?
