Department Summary:
We are currently seeking a Cleared Software Engineer to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC), an organization that is unique to MITRE because:
+ We are a team of analysts, scientists, innovators, and engineers focused on delivering meaningful solutions to national security challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Work on a team with other software engineers, business operations, and modeling&simulation staff to maintain and improve a virtual environment
+ Create and present deliverables to government sponsor(s) and MITRE leadership
+ Maintain and organize a software Bill of Materials for a virtual environment and ensure it meets MITRE and sponsor requirements.
+ Coordinate and communicate with users, to include access control, environment needs, and requests.
+ Track licensed products within virtual environment, to include usage and logistics
+ Communicate updates (e.g. outages, patch windows) to environment users and operating team
+ Ideate and architect shared software deployment strategies with lead software engineers
Basic Qualifications:
+ Active TS/SCI clearance.
+ Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
+ Experience developing in linux/unix operating systems.
+ Experience with software engineering concepts such as development, debugging, git, code reviews, continuous integration, and testing.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills and capable of working in a cross-functional environment that includes engineers, scientists, data analysts, and technical software developers.
+ Experience with container technologies / DevSecOps (e.g. Docker, Singularity)
+ Strong organization and communication skills
+ Experience in cloud compute environments (e.g. Azure, AWS)
+ This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift).
+ Bachelors and/or Masters degree focus in computer science, engineering, or artificial intelligence and related work experience
+ Experience developing in Python
+ Experience in developing / coding in high-side environment(s) (e.g. JWICS)
+ Security+ training or an equivalent IAT Level II certification
