Clerical Coordinator
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** **Description:** POSITION PURPOSE The Coordinator, Radiology Clerical provides coordination and support of the Radiology Patient Service Assistant staff and activities. The Coordinator is also responsible for the assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Radiology Clerical operations locally, as well as provides input and guidance system wide. The Coordinator works closely with Radiology leadership to maintain efficient and effective operations, ensure quality and promote change. The Coordinator, Radiology Clerical also develops and maintains educational programs for the PSA staff. The Coordinator provides supervision and direction to the staff. The Coordinator interacts and works collaboratively with other departments. The Coordinator participates in leadership forums, as a representative, recommending and implementing improvements. The Coordinator is patient focused, seeking to provide excellent patient experience. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution. Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, colleagues, and visitors. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management. Assists department management in interviewing, hiring, orienting, evaluating, training and counseling Radiographers/Technologist in an assigned area. Oversees the day-to-day patient care activities of an assigned area by assuring adequate staffing. Schedules, plans and assigns duties of staff to meet patient care requirements, and participates in staff meetings. Prepares, coordinates and maintains procedural and workflow documentation. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to effectively interact with systems utilized by Radiology department (e.g., Healthquest, Cerner Enterprise Scheduling, Cerner RadNet, Chartmaxx, etc.). Takes appropriate corrective actions to resolve problems. Works in cooperation with other coordinators to assist and direct the PSA staff in completing all requested work appropriately and in a timely and orderly manner. Regularly performs a variety of routine and complex Radiology Clerical assignment to maintain competency and evaluate work assignments. Communicate regularly with PSA staff for enhanced education and engagement opportunities. Oversees and ensures proper treatment of patients while in department. Monitors accuracy of work performed by Team; uses periodic auditing and agreed upon measurements for compliance with established benchmarks. Challenges Team members to assure continued competencies required by changing workflows, systems enhancements and internal and external environment. Gathers data to measure Team effectiveness and productivity; prepares necessary reports or summaries of Team activities. Provides for the educations and orientation of new staff members. Interacts positively with patients, PFS, clinical departments (managers and front-line users), Physicians, and others as necessary. Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, developmental and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies. Must be a very conscientious and detail-oriented person with excellent communication skills and demonstrate excellent customer service skills to deal effectively with patients, and various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with medical staff, other health center personal, team members, Radiology co-workers, patients, outside agency personnel, and other department representatives. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to travel between sites as needed. Analytical ability to effectively and efficiently resolve a broad range of issues. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Willingness to cooperate and work toward solutions, which support a common goal.
