Operated by the Management & Training Corporation, the East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, Texas, provides a unique opportunity to work with a team who helps people looking to turn their lives around.** **What you’ll do:** You’ll perform moderately complex substance abuse counseling work. Work involves planning, coordinating, and implementing substance abuse counseling activities; and coordinating with other departments to ensure the maximum utilization of resources available for chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives. **Essential Functions:** 1. Process Inmate disciplinary cases to include packet preparation and delivery of completed cases to other departments. 2. Perform varied clerical duties including performing data entry functions. 3. Make adjustments necessary to ensure schedules are met. 4. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and other required forms in a timely manner. 5. Maintain files on department records, cards, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action. 6. Proofread records or forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required. 7. Receive telephone calls and visitors, tactfully referring to the proper individual. 8. Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, voicemail systems and personal computers. 9. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. 10. Maintain accountability of Inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. **Education and Experience Requirements:** + Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED. + One (1) year related experience, including word processing or computer data entry experience required. + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. **Post-Hire Requirements:** Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to Inmate contact. Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ.
