· Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests

Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantityConsults catalogs and contacts suppliers to obtain pricing, specifications, and deliverabilityAssures that parts are delivered on schedule, confers with suppliers concerning late deliveriesVerifies cost accuracy of parts or outside processingCoordinates all activities related to procurement of material beginning with intent to purchase through deliveryAnalyzes the requirements of the material, including preliminary specification, preferred supplier and date material is neededInvestigates potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirementsAdvises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used retention of records
