Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Clerk to join our team. This role involves managing warehouse operations, improving process efficiencies, and ensuring customer orders are accurately fulfilled. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and the ability to work both in an office setting and hands-on in the warehouse.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain an organized warehouse, stockroom, and work area layout to meet the changing needs of the business.Lead and participate in process improvement activities, including the implementation of inventory system enhancements and 5S processes.Direct the workflow and personnel in Receiving, Finished Goods Warehouse, Shipping, and Returns departments to complete customer orders while ensuring company goals and quality metrics are met.Oversee warehouse space to ensure compliance with safety initiatives and housekeeping standards.Identify training opportunities for warehouse team in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.Conduct hands-on work including operation of forklifts, staging orders, and daily creation of shipping documents.Audit outbound shipments to ensure customer shipping requirements are met.Perform staged order quality checks to guarantee order fulfillment accuracy, especially for critical customers.Participate in the documentation of warehouse processes and recommend changes as needed.Ensure all processes are followed and documentation is current for compliance with regulatory and company standards.Work with management and plant personnel on audits and inspections.Accurately inventory all products, supplies, and customer returns.Collaborate with company personnel to ensure 100% accuracy of inventory in the warehouse.Maintain dock security and ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.Maintain a variety of records related to warehouse duties.Offload and ensure accurate inventory of green coffee as needed.Provide cross-functional back-up for Warehouse Manager and Production Planner.Handle warehouse opening or closing when needed.Perform other tasks as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in receiving, shipping, and dispatching.Proficiency in customer service and computer skills.Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.Proficient in MRP systems, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Strong phone/customer support skills.Experience in packing, order picking, data entry, and database management.Knowledge of inventory management and Microsoft Office.Call center and inbound call experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 2 years of customer service experience with direct contact with customers in a call center environment.Experience in the food and beverage industry is highly desirable.Proficiency in communicating with customers, processing orders, and resolving problems.Good follow-through and communication skills.PC-literate with experience in computerized ordering systems.High school diploma or GED.Ability to recognize and respond to mistakes and safety issues in a timely manner.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in an office setting with temperatures comparable to outside ambient temperatures. Food safety materials such as hairnets and gloves are required while handling products. No steel-toed shoes are required. Initial training will involve picker/packer roles to understand order control processes. This role is ideal for someone with customer service skills who seeks a varied role involving both desk work and active tasks.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00
