Client Experience Specialist III

This position serves as a key central point of contact for Vanderbilt University students, parents, staff, and faculty pertaining to student enrollment in the Vanderbilt Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). The Client Experience Specialist III offers expertise in the SHIP plan design and enrollment and waiver policies, and will facilitate all administrative functions regarding SHIP set-up, waivers, eligibility, enrollment, and customer care. In addition to working closely with Academic HealthPlans (AHP) staff, the Client Services Specialist III will liaise with Vanderbilt staff from the Office of Student Affairs, Risk Management, and the Student Care Network. This position will be located on the Vanderbilt campus, but will allow for up to two days remote work at home per week, depending upon campus needs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Under direction from AHP Vanderbilt Account Manager, act as a liaison and first point of contact between Vanderbilt University stakeholders, carriers, and Third-Party Administrator(s) to answer benefit and policy questions.Maintain routine office hours on campus and/or via Zoom to meet with stakeholders to discuss SHIP.Maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Prepare and present materials related to SHIP during orientation and throughout the academic year to student groups and other university stakeholders.Monitor the University email account and respond in a timely manner to all questions.Support SHIP by submitting requests to add students, delete students, and any status changes, etc. including emergency requests.Handle requests within level of authority in a courteous and timely manner; escalate urgent or complex inquiries about SHIP to the proper internal and external stakeholders, including the AHP Vanderbilt Account Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree3+ years Previous customer service and data entry experience preferredPC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookStrong written and oral communication skillsSound problem solving skillsAccounting and/or at least 1 year of Health Insurance experience
