General Summary:General Summary
This position is responsible for the on-boarding, growth and maintenance of assigned IDI clients. This involves development and implementation of a client enrollment implementation plan and strategy that promotes enrollment participation, strengthens relationships with the client, brokers or other parties of influence. This position is responsible for maintaining and cultivating strong long-term relationships with the client and parties influential in managing the account such as key home office business partners, IDI field partners, brokers or others with third party influence. Further, this position should serve as the primary point of contact on behalf of the home office and should work to create barriers to exit with existing clients. This position should be viewed as an objective sales partner with the field as it relates to account performance and should be viewed as an expert resource in helping their sales partners develop and deliver profitable service, enrollment and re-enrollment solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Establishing enrollment implementation plan for each case to include negotiating alternative enrollment options as needed to maximize sales opportunity and manage key deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, expense arrangements and expectationsManaging enrollment/re-enrollment process by following up on progress toward commitments by others and communicating progress to all partners on an on-going basis.Lead/drive continued block profitability for smaller, more standard cases working closely with Brokers, IDI Sales Reps and Plan Administrators as appropriate Conducting enrollment debriefing session with internal and external partners to confirm that commitments were met and to identify areas of opportunityAssist in the development of customized service strategies, executing open enrollments, GCIs, and re-enrollments working closely with the Operational team and sales partnersUnderstand and advocate the customer’s perspective to facilitate a high level of consultative service and create customer loyaltyIndependently respond to and resolve most customer inquiries and issues ensuring timely and accurate resolutionInitiate discussion with underwriting to facilitate decisions on risk related requests that arise during daily operations  Develop and maintain successful working relationships with internal business partners as well as Brokers, IDI Sales Reps and Plan Administrators to identify and execute sales opportunitiesServes as principal point of contact for assigned clients. This includes:Being point of contact for service problems and identifying and resolving service/operational issuesMaintaining regular and consistent communication with clientFacilitate change to improve workflow, enhance customer service and reduce operating costsThis role may require some travelMay perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant business experiencesInteracts effectively at different levels and with different audiences on both a strategic and tactical levelAbility to effectively weigh competing options and independently make and effectively communicate difficult decisionsWorks well under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlinesAbility to critically think and plan, negotiate, organize, and influence internal and external resources Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills  Ability to embrace and lead change to improve process, efficiency and service Demonstrates understanding of the marketplace, value of Brokers and challenges of Plan Administrators Understanding of Unum products and ability to recognize which parts of a contract impact risk, state filing, customization, and benefits administrationAbility and knowledge to effectively develop, articulate, and implement customer solutions or all aspects of the offering, i.e., Benefits, Legal, Taxation, etc.Ability to drive results through others.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$63,500.00-$120,000.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
