The Client Productivity Applications team is responsible for the configuration, deployment and support of a core suite of applications and tools, including Microsoft/Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud, which are used across the enterprise at a global scale.
The Client Productivity Applications: Licensing & Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining tenant & license management for our increasingly complex Microsoft 365 environment. Creativity and analytical thinking will be used to shape innovative solutions on how the Company presents and delivers core capabilities to our customers. Successful deployment and use of the solutions, with a focus on experience, sustainability, security, and compliance are key. The engineer also provides technical support and guidance as 3rd level support and troubleshoots any issues that may arise.
This team is comprised of seasoned engineers committed to delivering high quality technology experiences and helping the business succeed, building the client experience to cover Ford Motor Company’s entire global footprint.
You'll have...
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience
5+ years of progressive IT experience.
Proficient in using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, GitHub, and other scripting and automation tools to manage and optimize Microsoft 365. Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft 365 services and features. Experience in an infrastructure operational support role. Ability to work effectively in partnership with a global technical team. Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and associated workload. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Certification in Microsoft 365 or related technologies
Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager for Enterprise Software Delivery or Microsoft Intune
Experience with Microsoft 365 (M365/O365), EntraID, Azure, Power Automate and/or related technologies
Basic understanding of the Microsoft Modern Desktop concepts
Application development and/or scripting experience including using tools such as AutoIt

What you'll do...
Plan, configure, and manage all aspects of the License application and lifecycle management of Microsoft 365 licenses in our portfolio, including health of the portfolio, version/release management, change control, lifecycle planning, technology state management, workload management, consumption management and capacity demand management.
Core service offerings:
Microsoft Office and components of the M365/O365 service (F1, F3, E5, Device-Based licenses, etc), including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio, and others
Adobe Suite of Products
Additional tools such as PuTTy, Notepad++, and 7-Zip
Development and enforcement of rules & guidelines & exception processes to assign proper licenses in the most efficient and effective manner possible to ensure employees are productive on day one.
PowerShell & Script development and maintenance to automate license delivery and maintenance for the enterprise globally.
Collaborate with teams inside and outside the department to drive efforts toward Microsoft Modern Desktop initiatives, specifically around integration of application and configuration management.
Focus on improving the software and application acquisition and usage customer experiences at Ford.
Own the integration of numerous global applications, utilities, technologies, and suites of varying size and complexity into a tight, cohesive, global product offering (Global Client).
Participate in new projects within the application and technology portfolio to grow, enhance, and innovate the Client Service offering.
Ensure all appropriate security and controls items are executed and maintained. Ensure compliance with Ford IT’s architecture standards.
Responsible for ensuring effective communication of usage and value, including new enhancements, to customers of the service.
Stay updated on the latest developments and trends of Microsoft 365 & related tools and evaluate and recommend new solutions and enhancements to improve the user experience and productivity.
