Client Service Rep

Job Description

Tracks all specimens as primary point-of-contact. Receives, processes, and verifies specimen. Logs specimens into the information system.

Job Responsibility

 

* Handles telephone information requests promptly with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality. * Ensures appropriate ordering and turnaround of test results by monitoring transportation, receipt and ordering information on each specimen. * Coordinates pick-up and delivery of supplies and reports to/from client offices.Serves as a central dispatch for the Laboratory Motor Vehicle Operators. * Submits accurate information needed for billing by reviewing client requisitions.Contracts client offices for proper insurance coding, UPIN, diagnosis codes, NPI, and all other pertinent billing information. * Troubleshoots patient and client billing insures.Makes corrections and notifies hospital billing. * Evaluates integrity of all types of laboratory problem specimens (QNS, incorrect specimen sent, etc.). Investigates alternate courses of action to be taken to ensure positive resolution and client satisfaction. * Collaborates with area supervisors, when necessary. * Reviews all outpatients list (DSR, Site Batches, BBK list) on a daily basis and takes appropriate action to ensure quality of specimen collection and reporting of results * Receives interface orders in the Laboratory Information Systems * Verifies collection lists * Logs in test orders and registers patients, when necessary. * Maintains proper lever of supplies at all times.Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

 

Associates Degree in Medical Technology OR Associates Degree with three (3) years laboratory experience, required. Prior experience in bench technology as a generalist, preferred. Customer service experience, preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, required.
