Summary

Job Summary

The Clinic Coordinator Assistant (CCA) demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills to obtain and coordinate the patient's medical records, pathology slides and radiology films prior to their appointment(s) at Moffitt Cancer Center.  The CCA ensures all pertinent patient information is properly distributed to internal parties.  

The CCA uses exceptional customer service skills in ongoing communication with patients, providers, nurses, affiliates, outside organizations and other staff.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Oncology experience with focus on medical terminology. An Associate’s Degree in either Business or Healthcare related field. Knowledge of Cerner systems or electronic medical record

Position Highlights:

Patient workflow and system access - The CCA will have thorough knowledge of patient flow through the organization and systems to ensure the records and documents, slides, films and other pertinent information are obtained and organized prior to patient appointment with the providers.  The CCA will problem solve and collaborate with patients and referring physicians/oncologist in order to obtain missing medical records, films/CDs and slides of the patient before the appointment. Medical Records Management and Privacy - The CCA will support privacy and confidentiality during the flow of documentation including the management, request and receipt of medical records from patients, facilities, physician offices and other organizations. Systems and work process - Navigating through multiple computer systems to properly manage the flow of patient information, the CCA constantly seeks ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and find solutions to current situations or to develop new methods and procedures.

Credentials and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED 2 years of administrative experience in a hospital or medical setting Experience with Microsoft Office applications
