Full Time, Day Shift, 40hrs/wk

SummaryPerforms echocardiographic procedures as ordered by a physician to include TTE, Stress Echo and Dobutamine Echo.  Gathers appropriate clinical history, cardiac related findings and pertinent laboratory data from patients, medical records and previous scans in order to adapt the imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiographic information.

What You Will Do

Assists in the transfer of the patient to and from a wheelchair to exam table if needed and positions patients for the proper view of the heart.

Selects and obtains recordings of the appropriate ultrasound images of the heart and related structures for the physician to interpret per Clinic protocol.

Responsible to critique scanning parameters to improve the image.

Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.

Quantifies and subjectively evaluates and interprets the data collected.

Correlates pathological findings with echo results.

Submits diagnostic exam to the physician for their interpretation.

Follows ICAEL rules and regulations.  May be asked to assist with creating, collecting and submitting documents for ICAEL reaccreditation.

Works under minimal supervision.

Maintains continuing medical education (CME) through SDMS approved journals, books, seminars and conferences as required by ICAEL.

What You Will Need

RDCS registered or registry eligible.

BLS certification within first three months of employment.  ACLS preferred.

Minimum of one-year experience directly related to Echocardiography.

Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.  Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
