If you would like to join us on our mission, apply today! **Position Highlights** POSITION SUMMARY: Registered Nurse who provides nursing triage services and health advice for patients and managed care members over the phone. Evaluates, assesses, and documents patients' questions or concerns. May give physician referrals as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES: Triages phone calls as emergent, urgent, or routine. Relies on experience and judgment to advise patients and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision of all clinic providers. Consults provider and documents patient notification and follow-up per provider orders. Remains up to date and is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field. May assist in scheduling patients for testing or referrals as needed. May assist in the prior authorization of testing as needed. Adheres to policies and procedures of Clinic, RHS policies and procedures, nursing service manual, meeting minutes, all memos, client education, staffing policies, personnel policies and RHS nursing standards. Provides competent care to all age populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. Functions as a team member by providing backup when needed. Dress code includes all black or all grey scrub top and pants, with undershirt of any color. No hooded jackets or sweatshirts. Scrub jackets or logo wear only for long sleeves. Friday (free) – any color scrubs ok. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A current Iowa license as a RN is required. Must be able to communicate clearly with patients using simple terminology. Must be able to give accurate advice, while always taking time to invite/answer questions. Computer skills preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain and display professionalism with customers and coworkers. Organizational skills, with attention to detail, including time management and workflow required. Advanced knowledge of nursing practice, including the ability to make sound judgments in clinical situations. Understanding of teaching/learning principles. Flexibility and adaptability.
