Responsibilities

CHI St. Alexius is looking for a Full Time RN in our Surgery Clinic.

The Clinic RN provides nursing care to patients in the ambulatory clinic setting, assists providers with procedures, and maintains
efficient work flow of clinic. Responsibilities include intake of patient’s vital signs, medications, allergies, personal
histories, etc. Requires strong interpersonal skills, computer skills, patient coordination, flexibility, and the ability to
work well with patients, providers, vendors, and associates.


What You'll Do:
1. Patient Care Performs duties such as intake of vital signs, current medications, allergies, social history,surgical history, and medical history. Assesses patients for abuse risks and suicide risks. Performs procedures, administers medications, and assists patients as needed with care. Returns telephone calls and test results to patient/caregiver.


2. Office Management Performs general office duties such as ordering supplies, stocking rooms, management of records, ordering and managing floor stock medications, monitoring outdates of supplies and medications, and monitoring provider’s schedules for inaccuracies.


3. Satellite Clinics-Prepare essential paperwork needed for offsite locations, monitor provider’s schedule, prepare needed supplies, and travel to satellite locations if needed. Must have the ability to coordinate schedules for the patient and provider, with a multidisciplinary team at both on and off site locations.

4. Computer Skills Uses various software programs to prepare patient charts for visit, research patient history and medication usage, and utilizes EMR for pertinent information for patient visit.

5. Educational Needs Utilizes the principles of teaching/learning to meet the education needs of the patient, family, care-givers, and co-workers.

6. Critical Thinking Ability to evaluate unexpected and critical situations. Weighs pertinent information and makes appropriate decisions with minimal assistance.

7. Delegation Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications and competency to ensure safe patient care.

8. Communication Utilizes good communication skills because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and Medical Center staff.


Qualifications

Registered Nurse Degree from an approved school of nursing

practice nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state.
CPR certified. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge
