Clinic RN - Allergy and Specialty Clinic Phone Triage

Job Description

HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater is looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join the Allergy Department team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary

Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and HealthPartners policy.  Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program.  Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.  Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients.  Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.

Additional Information

The Allergy team support patients with allergies and asthma. Duties of the RN position include working alongside medical providers, rooming and discharging patients, skin testing, food challenges, spirometry, patient education, pre-visit planning and other duties assigned.

This position will also be supporting the Specialty clinic more broadly by providing phone triage support primarily in the specialties of Gastroenterology, Neurology, Otolaryngology and General Surgery. Triage duties include triaging of patients, refilling of medications when appropriate, injection teaching, medication draws, managing patient and physician messages, and all other duties assigned.

Work Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Clinic Hours. 

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing Associate degree or diploma required 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred Additional qualifications may be applicable for specialty care Licensure/Certification: Maintain a current Minnesota and Wisconsin registered nurse’s licensure.  Current BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served and ensure safety of patients. Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multi-task Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act Critical thinking, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Fluent in EMR (EPIC) use Understanding of Nursing Practice Act and Scope of Practice for various roles
