• One year of experience in a healthcare or related institutional setting, preferred
Certification/Registration/Licensure
• Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or
placement in job from one of the following:
• American Heart Association
• American Red Cross Rescuer
Responsibilities
• Transports patients to departments to help safeguard patients while they are at the hospital.
• Transports lab specimens, blood products and other items within the organization, as needed for
the assigned department.
• Assures the cleanliness and safety of the environment to provide the optimal sanitary environment
for all internal/ external customers of PHHS.
• Responsible for preparing and restocking equipment and supplies in clinic, procedural and
inpatient rooms.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with the unit staff, patients, families, visitors, and other
hospital administrative and medical staff to ensure the personal comfort and safety of patients,
and the unit activities meet the needs of the users.
• Acts as an aide for the nurses in the ambulation of patients to ensure the safety of both the patient
and staff.
• May perform patient observation (1:1 observation) as directed.
Job Accountabilities
1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes
recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the
overall goals of the department and Parkland.
2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending
seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional
organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into
current work practices.
3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the
area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws,
accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and
guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
