40Summary:
The Clinical Nutritionist is a member of the Genetics team, providing expert nutritional assessment and treatment to patients with inborn errors of metabolism. This position works in close collaboration with the physician to provide nutrition intervention and education based on the clinical assessment, goals, preferences, learning barriers and readiness of the patient and his/her family in support of the overall plan of care. The Clinical Nutritionist possesses knowledge and understanding of normal pediatric growth and development.
Education and Experience:
Registered dietitian with Masters of Science required
2 years' experience with inherited metabolic disorders and a strong bio-chemistry and/or genetics background preferred
Child growth and development education required
Experience with Public Health agencies and programs preferred
Must be comfortable with computerized data analysis, preparation and educational materials. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Certification/Licensure:
Current license to practice as a licensed/registered Dietitian by the State of Texas
Current registration with the Commission of Dietetic Registration required Certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian preferred
Current BLS certification
