How will you make an impact?
We are currently looking for a Clinical Applications Specialist with a background in Next Generation Sequencing and Diagnostics Informatics to further strengthen our team. You would be part of a field-based team focused on supporting the clinical testing market.
A day in the Life:
Primary support for Clinical laboratories with training, validation and troubleshooting for our Thermo Fisher Scientific/ Ion Torrent product portfolio (mainly NGS)Promote clinical solutions to existing customers and at conferences/user meetingsLead the implementation of assays and products / clinical solutions within customer sitesImprove customer value/satisfaction by aligning complex product solutions and services with key customer initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers or potential influencersUnderstand the clinical landscape and develop a strategy how to best tackle the clinical markets with Clinical Sales counterpartsBuild and maintain relationships with key Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborating partners, decision makers or potential influencersReview and assist customers with analyses of their Ion Torrent data using Torrent Suite and Ion Reporter software packagesHelp customers design and conducts experiments to assist in evaluations of Ion Torrent / Thermo Fisher productsProvide initial training to customers at their own CLIA/GLP laboratories and at Thermo Fisher training locationsUnderstand CAP/CLIA NYS NGS Guidelines for Laboratory Developed TestsProvide technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiriesWork in collaboration with the Clinical Account Manager to set up the best support strategy for each customer siteBuild strong relationships with customersMaintain and develop the CRM databaseMaintain consistent and structured communication with counterparts and articulate summarized communication to Manager on a periodic basisObtain successful adoption of the technology within all applied markets while investigating the potential of other applications and solutions both pre-clinically and clinicallyAlign with other teams in the company on a regular basisEstimated 50-75% travelKeys to Success:
Education
BA/BS with 2+ years of relevant experience, or MS degree in Life Sciences, PhD preferredExperience
Experience in NGS sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, qPCR, and RT-PCRUnderstanding of healthcare industry standards, guidelines, and environmentsA technically savvy individual who can assess customer clinical needs and implement training and experimental approaches to ensure customer successPrevious experience as application specialist desirable (NGS experience desirable)Medical background, laboratory experience, and/or managed careClinical Laboratory experience/MLT a plus.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Washington is $83,300.00–$115,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
