Clinical Applications Educator - Clinical Apps Education
*POSITION SUMMARY * The clinical applications educator works directly with clinical application non-provider end-users, business owners, business systems analysts, and clinical informatics to implement education and training strategies for new systems and modifications to existing systems as outlined in the Clinical Applications Education (CAE) catalog under the direction of the manager. This position also assists with developing the end-user workflow, system design, & basic functionality, troubleshooting and application optimization. This role as functions as an advocate for the application end-users for applications outlined within the CAE catalog. This role also supports strategic projects as a crucial member of the project team by providing onsite support for the end-users for applications supported in the CAE catalog. *PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES * 1. Coordinates, develops, and delivers clinical application education training materials through various modalities. 2. Participates in developing & delivering clinical application education to end-users. 3. Successfully builds customer rapport and serves as the liaison between IT and customer regarding clinical application functionality. 4. Serves as the subject matter expert with clinical application functionality. 5. Maintains accurate documentation of performed functions through information technology service management and administrative tools. 6. Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve and optimize end-user application workflow. 7. Presents advanced knowledge of expertise in clinical workflow functionality documentation. 8. Provides first tier customer-facing application functionality support through various modalities. 9. Manages clinical application training rooms, training environments, and hardware. 10. Participates and represents the department in organization-wide committees and meetings. 11. Participates in sharing trends and advances in application training, informatics, and the electronic health records. 12. Supports end-users during downtimes and major projects. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* * Education:Associate of Arts/Associates in Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree * Licensure:None Required * Certification:None Required * Work Experience:4 years of allied health, Informatics, or Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group and/or Acute Care required. * Work Experience in lieu of Education:N/A * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: o Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio o Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse healthcare environment. o Strong verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly enunciate and convey information o Excellent organizational skills. o Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. o Able to set goals, prioritize, and problem-solve. o Able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment o Able to work independently, interdependently, and collaboratively o Able to perform duties with minimal supervision o Able to handle stress and dynamic work situations to meet customer needs and deadlines o Able to prepare educational materials in a timely, professional manner o Able to effectively function as a facilitator *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * * Education:Bachelor’s degree or higher in related area * Licensure:Licensed Allied Health Professional (i.e. RN, RD, RT, etc.) * Certification:Healthcare Informatics or Education certification. * Work Experience:Six or more years of allied health, Informatics, or Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group and/or Acute Care * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Decision-making, Financial acumen *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**Sedentary – Office Workers* * Able to tolerate long periods of computer time a day * Able to independently travel to all Health First locations and facilities. * Able to work extended periods or outside normal working hours during project and as needed to meet mission critical initiatives. * Able to effectively communicate in person, telephone and in writing. * Able to lift, push or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. * Able to climb, stoop, kneel or crouch to gain access to equipment and supplies. * Physically able to walk and/or stand eight (8) hours at one time. *ABOUT HEALTH FIRST* At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
