Clinical Assistant

The Genetics Clinic Assistant (GA) provides basic clinical support to patients under the care and supervision of the genetics managers, supervisors, and other licensed personnel. The GA may obtain consent, provide video education, document personal and family medical history, and collect biological sample for genetic testing with oversight of a licensed genetics counselor/provider. The GA may also prepare paperwork, utilize cloud-based and other applications, create encounter documentation in electronic medical record, and enter data into the program database. S/he may provide case review, support queries, and perform other patient preparation and follow-up tasks as needed. The GA works as a team member with other caregivers and consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor. This position may also provide remote clinic support. It is necessary for the person in this position to pay close attention to detail and demonstrate excellent customer service skills with patients and staff.

Required Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Biological/Health Sciences Or equivalent educ/experience Coursework/Training Genetics Assistant Certificate Or equivalent educ/experience Coursework/Training Venipuncture, Phlebotomy      Experience working in a healthcare setting Experience with medical terminology
