Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - General Urology
Job Description:The Department of Urology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Urologist at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level for a full-time, non-tenure faculty position.
Background. The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology, the premier academic urology training program in the state of Florida. Located at UF Health Shands Hospital, a tertiary referral center that serves the population of north central Florida, southern Georgia and surrounding communities. The candidate would join a mature practice within the department, which has 20 additional urologists who support general, endourology, oncology, pediatric and reconstructive urologic surgery. The University of Florida is ranked 5 in the top public schools in the nation. UF College of Medicine is one of 16 colleges within the university and these additional colleges as well as the UF Cancer Center provide an environment rich in cross departmental collaborations.
Clinical. We are seeking a candidate with broad experience in all aspects of open, minimally invasive (laparoscopic/DaVinci robotic) and endoscopic treatments as applied to general urologic conditions. We are primarily seeking candidates whose clinical focus is coverage of both office and surgical treatment of general, and small urologic cases. The candidate would join a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians including fellowship-trained urologic oncologists and pediatric urologists. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to serve as a mentor and teacher for UF urology fellows, residents and medical students from UF Health Shands Hospital at the UF College of Medicine. Additional resources including four daVinci robotics, UroNav MRI-US fusion prostate biopsy technology, urologic oncology nurse navigator as well as two advanced practice providers trained in urology.
Research. For those candidates with a keen interest in pursuing research as part of their academic career, the UF College of Medicine is a superb location to practice as it offers excellent intramural funding opportunities in addition to traditional government funding mechanisms. Protected time for research is available for qualified candidates who receive research funding.
Mentorship from experienced faculty members will be provide for candidates without prior independent research experience and/or funding. Strong interest and participation in clinical trials is required and will be conducted in conjunction with the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute and UF Cancer Center.
Advertised Salary:Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:Applicants must have a M.D. degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida and be board certified or eligible.
