Job Description:

The Department of Urology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Fellowship-Trained Pediatric Urologist at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level for a full-time faculty position.

Background. The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology at UF Health Shands Hospital is a tertiary referral center that serves the population of north central Florida, southern Georgia and surrounding communities. The candidate would join the Division of Pediatric Urology which has 2 full-time Pediatric Urologists, and a full-time Pediatric APRN. The department has 20 additional faculty members who support general, endourology, oncology, female, pediatric and reconstructive urologic surgery. The University of Florida is ranked 5th in the top public schools in the nation. UF College of Medicine is one of 16 colleges within the university and these additional colleges as well as the UF Cancer Center provide an environment rich in cross departmental collaborations.

Clinical. We are seeking a candidate with a record of distinguished accomplishments, expertise in pediatric urologic surgery, proficiency in clinical care, and a clear commitment to student and resident education. The candidate would join a department recognized for its clinical and research excellence. The division is committed to providing comprehensive pediatric urologic care and the highest quality surgical services, including robotic surgery, for all genitourinary conditions.

Research. For those candidates with a keen interest in pursuing research as part of their academic career, the UF College of Medicine is a superb location to practice as it offers excellent intramural funding opportunities in addition to traditional government funding mechanisms. The UF College of Medicine is ranked in the top 50 of all U.S. medical schools for NIH research dollars awarded to medical schools and is ranked No. 22 among public institutions. Protected time for research is available for qualified candidates who receive research funding. Mentorship from experienced faculty members will be provide for candidates without prior independent research experience and/or funding. Strong interest and participation in clinical trials is required and will be conducted in conjunction with the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute and UF Cancer Center.

Advertised Salary:

Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a M.D. degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida and be board certified or eligible.
