Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator)

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician-Educator).

The Division of Hematology-Oncology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) within the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC) is recruiting for a Pediatric Neuropsychologist. The successful candidate will hold a primary academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics in the USC Keck School of Medicine at the level of Assistant Professor. In this position, they are expected to provide outpatient clinical neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric hematology/oncology populations. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams chiefly from our neuro-oncology, leukemia/lymphoma, cancer survivorship, sickle cell hemoglobinopathies, hemostasis, and bone marrow transplant programs. Clinical responsibilities include pre- and post-treatment evaluations, consultation, and participation in multidisciplinary team conferences and clinics. The position will also include supervision and training of postdoctoral fellows and graduate-level practicum students. While primarily a clinical position, we are searching for a qualified, accomplished individual to make meaningful clinical and scientific contributions to our neuropsychology service. Opportunities exist for independent and collaborative clinical research.

Requirements for this position include completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in psychology with formal training in clinical neuropsychology, completion of an APA-accredited internship, and completion of a formal 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with a pediatric emphasis. Applicants must be licensed in California before appointment begins. Qualified candidates must be board certified through ABPP/ABCN or be prepared to seek such certification in the future, which will be expected. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical and writing skills. Research experience will be a significant asset. Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,904-$325,712.  When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
