Job Description:

The Division of Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville is looking to add a fellowship-trained partner to join our academic division. We provide comprehensive ambulatory and surgical urogynecology services to patients in North Florida and Southern Georgia. UF Health Shands Hospital is a tertiary care center and the main clinical campus for the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Health Professions. Some basic information that may be of interest to applicants:

Clinical - We have high clinical and surgical volume due to large catchment area. We have a close-knit team including a dedicated scheduler, several MAs and we have a full-time Urogynecology PA and Urogynecology RN. We are very team-focused, always advancing our practice goals by expanding the knowledge and support within the team. We provide office urodynamics, bladder instillations, Botox and pessary management. Surgical - The ObGyn Department has recently expanded our OR blocks from 43 per month to 76 per month, anticipating that future hires will need block time, therefore adequate block time is available for all new surgeons.  Dr. Weber LeBrun is the Division Chief and also the Director of Surgical Services for the Department of ObGyn, coordinating OR block assignments within the Department. UF Health Shands has 7 robots. Urogynecology has robot block time access in the main hospital and a Surgical Center.   Education - The Department of ObGyn hosts a residency program, 5 residents per year, most recently awarded the institutional "Program of the Year". Urogynecology hosts a 3rd year resident for a 5 week Urogynecology rotation. Each resident rotates with us twice per year. We also host medical students on rotation, usually the same student for 4-5 days in a row in the OR and clinic. We are in the process of creating a Urogynecology Fellowship Program. We have matched 1 resident in Urogynecology (2023) and have 3 residents planning a future in urogynecology. Leadership & Mentorship - We are very focused on supportive on-boarding, transitioning from fellowship training and professional development.  Research - The University of Florida is a top-tier institution with CTSI support and ample opportunity for clinical and collaborative research.

Primary faculty appointment is in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and includes a pivotal role in advancing our educational departmental activities though teaching residents and medical students in clinics and in the operating room. In addition, faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including an opportunity for protected research time as appropriate for experience and interests. Participation is also expected as assigned in hospital, medical and department committees. Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative setting. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology employs 29 physicians, 15 APPs, a full-time Genetic Counselor, plus supporting administrative and clinical staff. There are six clinical divisions in the department including Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Gynecologic Oncology.

Expected Salary:

$292,000 Annually

Minimum Requirements:

This position requires an MD/DO degree or equivalent; board certification or eligibility in OBGYN-Urogynecology. Excellent communication skills and evidence of collaborative work are required.
