Clinical Biospecimens Specialist I

We are leaders in plasma-derived medicines and transfusion medicine and develop, produce and market innovative medicines, solutions and services in more than 110 countries and regions. **Summary:** This position is responsible for receiving biospecimen requests, performing feasibility on requests, generating quotes for biospecimens, timely coordination of biospecimen collection, & receipt and shipping of biospecimens obtained from donor centers and suppliers. Maintains records associated with the request feasibility, collection and shipment of biospecimens and packages shipments as required by protocol. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Performs day-to-day interaction with commercial sales team members to receive and understand customer requests, perform request feasibility, and generate proposed quote in a timely manner with speed, accuracy, professionalism, and politeness. + collaboration with sales team regarding new, existing and future customer accounts. Regular communication with sales team is required. + Frequent collaboration with external vendors regarding feasibility, new, and existing opportunities. Regular communication is required. + Assembles lab kits and other supplies in preparation to obtain required biospecimen samples and transports to appropriate laboratories for processing; ships samples externally according to International Air Transport Association (IATA) requirements. + Creates purchase orders in SAP for suppliers and creates goods receipts in SAP upon biospecimen shipment arrival. + Manages and orders all supplies required to obtain biospecimens. + Regularly performs an inventory to identify and discard expired collection tubes, etc. + Identifies and communicates important protocol and/or specimen issues or problems to the sales team and manager in a timely manner. + Follows established Grifols, Grifols Bio Supplies, and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. + Works collaboratively and communicates regularly with all members of the Biospecimens team. + Participates in quality improvement projects on an on-going basis including the development of policies and procedures and standard operating procedures to improve day-to-day efficiency. **Additional Responsibilities:** + Interacts internally with Warehouse staff, Quality staff, Manufacturing staff, Procurement, Plasma and Whole Blood Centers, Bio Supplies personnel, and Corporate staff. + Interacts daily with external IRB sites and external suppliers. + Performs all other duties as required / assigned. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Explicit attention to detail is required. + Must have excellent analytical skills, organizational skills and follow-up. + Must have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze situations in a timely manner. + Must have ability to organize and prioritize work assignments. + Must have ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Must have ability to participate in multi-functional teams. + Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within Grifols Bio Supplies and provide excellent customer service. + Must have ability to communicate courteously with customers by phone, email, letter and face-to-face + Proficiency with computers. **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements. (Associate Degree plus minimum of 2 years of experience). + IATA certification (may be obtained after hire). + Entry level, no experience required. Pay scale of $26.23 - $39.35 per hour for US based remote candidates, depending on training, education and experience. This position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool.
