The Clinical Care Coordinator Nurse in the department of surgical specialties/urology is accountable for the delivery of culturally sensitive, age specific direct patient care, including, but not limited to: 

Care coordination for patient and families in the department of urology in all subspecialty divisions. Direct patient care of patients with complex urologic conditionsDirect patient care for the adult urology population during procedures in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment Direct patient care for patients scheduled for procedures on the nurse clinic grid, Botox clinic, performance of urodynamic studies on adult and pediatric urology patients, telephone triage, pre-operative and post-operative teaching, counseling and obtaining informed consent for a variety of urology surgical proceduresCare of patients transitioning from pediatric to adult urology careCollaboration with other health team members and associated resource person to ensure continuity of care across all care environmentsWillingness to adapt to different populations as adult urology medicine demands. (Orientation and training provided for new subspecialties on expansion of divisions).Adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectivesAssistance in the development and implementation of competencies, protocols and patient education tools to improve patient care, and other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications*Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.Educational Requirement; applicant must meet one of the following: Bachelors degree in Nursing OR an Associates degree/diploma in Nursing AND a Masters degree in Nursing.Minimally three (3) years of RN experience with at least one (1) year of adult Medical/Surgical Urology. 

NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications*Two (2) or more years (in last 5 years) caring for the adult urology population in the ambulatory care setting.Experience with urologic procedures e.g. urodynamics, SP tube changes, bladder instillations, Botox preparation, vasectomies, cystoscopies, etc. Two (2) years (in last 3 years) ambulatory care nursing experience in an adult surgical setting.Ambulatory phone triage experience.Demonstrated collaborative practice including commitment to self-directed and autonomous practice.  Demonstrated ability to maintain professional working relationshipsDemonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice.Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 5 years) experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.  Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel.Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours per week, variable shifts, Monday through Friday.  Potential weekends and holidays.
Shift: Days, variable shifts.  Flexibility in scheduling is required.

Location: Primary work location will be Taubman Center Urology clinic, with the potential to work in other locations with expansion of the division. This position is not a remote position. 

Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
