OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Under general direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, provides oversight over all service timelines and services provided. Runs quarterly data to ensure timely access to care, ensure satisfaction surveys are provided to all participants and their caregivers (as appropriate), to ensure high satisfaction with the services provided. The Clinical Standards Specialist will develop and implement a plan to address all areas identified for improvement. Quality assurance oversight and delivery of outcomes will reflect three guiding principles: timely access to care, ensuring appropriate care is provided, and the providers are accountable to the participants served.

 

Salary range: $85 - $95k/yr

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Gathers, reviews, and analyzes quality assurance (QA) including provider compliance data, related documentation, and other (QA) program documents, and follows established procedures. Ensures accuracy, timeliness, thoroughness, and completeness of deliverables. Prepares reports as directed.
 Applies clinical knowledge and experience to analyses of QA data and systems, and to perform assessment of clinical data/activity; identifies issues of non-compliance or risk, reports findings, assists in implementation of remediation actions, and performs follow up until resolution.
 Edits documentation forms as needed.
 Participates documentation development and maintenance of procedures, operational guidelines, contractual agreements, and other materials relating quality assurance.
 Creates community linkages by completing outreaches with community behavioral health providers.
 Reviews and evaluates participant assignments to a behavioral health provider and the adequacy of communication to relevant parties (e.g., family, administrative assistant, etc.).
 Provides training and on-going check ins with community behavioral health providers.
 Participates in all monthly meetings. Conducts corresponding written follow-up.
 Prepares and reports monthly caseload status including participant concerns and progress, and behavioral health provider concerns.
 Provides ongoing review and feedback to ensure reliable and valid outcome measures and metrics.
 Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
 Master’s degree or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, behavioral health, psychology, or related field.
 Current Board of Behavioral Sciences License as LFMT, LCSW, or LPCC and 5 years post licensure or CA Board of Psychology License as a licensed psychologist.

 

EXPERIENCE:
 Five or more years of related professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, severe mental illness, substance use, trauma, homelessness, and justice involvement.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
 Knowledge and understanding of diverse mental health treatments and interventions, including dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment theory, interactive behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, trauma integrated therapy, applied behavior analysis, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, expressive therapies, positive psychology, and risk management as it related to suicidal and homicidal ideation/behavior.
 Advanced knowledge of scientifically validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit individuals diagnosed with Developmental Disability and Mental Illness. Familiarity with current related research findings.
 Expertise in all empirically evaluated assessment and intervention strategies related to program and service delivery for individuals with dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health conditions.
 Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
 Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
 Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
 Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families and maintain positive affect.
 Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
 Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and related computer
software.
 Must have and maintain current CPR certification card.
 Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
 Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
 Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
 Spanish speaking/Bilingual preferred.
 Ability to travel locally
