This position is open to Psychologists who are licensed, or license eligible Residents in Psychology. Carilion will provide necessary supervision for licensure with the Virginia Board of Psychology.
Academic Child & Adolescent Psychologist

Full-time, Mon-Fri with flexibility in scheduled hours
Position Overview:
• 75% of time devoted to direct patient care activities.
• 25% of time devoted to supervision of psychotherapy provided by Child Psychiatry Fellows, education and teaching within the Psychiatry Department.
Desired expertise includes:
Trained and certified in the following, (or willing to obtain certifications after hiring): CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral therapy for insomnia) PCIT (Parent child interaction therapy), TF/CBT (Trauma focused CBT) Experienced in evidence-based therapies and behavioral approaches for improving psychiatric outcomes among children and adolescents. Experience with family therapy and family systems/structural models. Ability to provide child and adolescent psychological assessments. Ability to provide effective supervision and education to psychiatry residents. Competency in the use of evidence-based diagnostic methods, and measurement-based assessment methods to demonstrate clinical outcomes. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. participation in research emphasizing translational research and clinical outcomes. Adheres to all ethical, professional, and state regulations and standards when providing psychological services.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Education: PhD or PsyD from an APA or CPA-accredited clinical psychology graduate program. Successful completion of an APA or CPA-accredited doctoral internship.
Experience: Minimum supervised resident and postdoctoral hours for licensure as required the Virginia Board of Psychology. Completion of a specialty post-doctoral fellowship in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychology is desired, but not required.
License, certification, and/or registration: Psychologists must possess an active Virginia license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist. License-eligible applicants are required to register as a Resident in Psychology with the Virginia Board of Psychology; license-eligible Residents in Psychology will be granted a period of two years to acquire licensure for permanent status in this position.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Meets Carilion Clinic credentialing requirements. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with physicians and other health care providers. Committed to continuing education.
