**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Under the supervision of the Vice-President Quality & Risk Management, the Clinical Coordinator manages the processes, and projects which support Quality, Infection Prevention, and overall organization-wide outcomes.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program and Infection Control Programs.
+ Supports hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals
+ Assist development of actions to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections and execute on those plans
+ Serves as liaison on internal and external teams as appropriate related to regulatory and outcomes management. Provides overall support and assistance in quality initiatives and tracers.
+ Serve as a liaison between IP, Quality, Nursing, and Physicians on ongoing initiatives
+ Assist with Patient Safety Compliance
+ Back up and support Quality coordinators in the areas of Sepsis, Stroke, Chest Pain, and Palliative Care.
+ Monitor Foley and line maintenance for patient safety
+ Facilitates and/or participates in organization committees for performance improvement and survey readiness. Assists with designing and implementing strategies for survey readiness.
+ Performs data abstraction and entry in a timely and accurate manner. Independently reviews entries and resolves discrepancies to ensure accurate and consistent clinical quality data. Provides data and information in a manner that assists with detection of patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
+ Participates in core measure abstraction and inter-rater reliability testing as deemed necessary and supporting needs of the department.
+ Assists with the performance of concurrent reviews and participates in rounding related to data and regulatory compliance as required.
+ Provides education and leadership for physicians, staff and leaders as required.
+ Uses current literature and resources to identify current concepts and evaluates their usefulness in improving patient outcomes.
+ Provides overall support and assistance to ensure optimum functioning of the quality management department by performing other duties as assigned.
+ Collaborates with health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
+ Maintains confidentiality.
+ Demonstrates sensitivities to culturally diverse patient population.
+ Proactively seeks team building and positive working relationships with all hospital and medical staff
+ Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities, and seeks opportunities to improve department and inter-department processes.
+ Perform special assignments as needed/requested by the VP/Director of Quality.
+ Regular attendance is required.

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support
+ PALS Pediatric Advance Life Support
