The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish all missions. Positioned at the confluence of critical patient care, hospital resource optimization, and data-driven decisions, this role provides the opportunity to use data analysis and data engineering skills to improve the health and well-being of Oregonians and beyond. OHSU's Mission Control department has been an industry leader in using real-time streaming data to make a difference for patients and the teams charged with their care. A chief goal of OHSU's Mission Control department is to place more patients efficiently to provide more access to more patients across the region.
Function/Duties of PositionAs a part of the OHSU Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics (BIAA) division, this position is responsible for developing comprehensive data and analytics toolsets and interactive solutions for the OHSU Mission Control unit. This includes but is not limited to data engineering and data visualization activities supporting operational effectiveness, clinical quality, research initiatives, and related project efforts as prioritized by OHSU Mission Control leadership.
This person will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining data and analytics solutions, including:
Dashboard and data visualization development in Microsoft Power BI Analytics and Tableau;ETL development using Epic’s Caboodle Data Warehouse and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS);SQL data extracts using T-SQL stored procedures and SSIS;Views and stored procedures for reporting using Microsoft SQL Server and the Epic Clarity and Caboodle data models;Epic data extraction using Epic Reporting Workbench (RWB) and the RWB extract framework;This position will develop solutions primarily with Epic’s Cogito platform (Clarity and Caboodle), Microsoft SQL Server tools, BusinessObjects, and Power BI. Azure DevOps will be used for version control, code management, and code deployment. All development will observe the OHSU BIAA data governance policies and SDLC practices.

Required QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years of work-related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years of work-related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments;OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted
for a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Application Engineer or Developer (or equivalent classification) developing data warehouse objects or data integration solutions.Minimum of four (4) years of SQL Server Experience, including SSIS and T-SQL, coding, performance tuning, and system optimization. Minimum of four (4) years with Microsoft SQL Server T-SQLMinimum of five (5) years developing reports and dashboards.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a data warehouse environmentJob Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of data warehousing architecture and dimensional modeling concepts. Ability to read, write, and maintain SQL code at an advanced skill level.Proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis with excellent attention to detail.Ability to accurately document system technical artifacts at a level of detail sufficient for ongoing production support.Registration, Certifications, and/or Licenses:
