Registered Dietitian supporting Inpatient Clinical Nutrition
The Registered Dietitian (RD) will support inpatients who are screened at nutrition risk, and/or referred by physicians or other healthcare providers for nutrition-related problems, chronic disease management, management of nutrition support, to meet regulatory requirements. The RD is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team who serves as the patient’s nutrition advocate. The RD ensures that the patient’s nutrition needs are being met, including when nutrition support (enteral or parenteral) initiation and/or management. Primary responsiblities include application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, developing and implementing evidence-based nutrition intervention(s), and monitoring and evaluating the patient’s progress, and communicating the nutrition care plan with other members of the care team. The nutrition assessment may include nutrition-focused physical exam, identification and documention of malnutrition, and care plan development for patients with complex medical, surgical, and biochemical histories. The RD provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to patients of varying acuity levels including management of enteral nutrition initiation and advacement when delegated authority by the primary service, per the nutrition related protocols. The RD works independently managing resources in a cost-effective manner, and participates in compliance and quality performance improvement, and oversees the experiences for dietetic interns. The RD is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, is involved in education of physicians, residents, medical students and other health professionals as requested via lectures and in-service opportunities and team conferences, and contributes to the development and revision of organizational policies and guidelines. The RD maintains professional competency and skills required for professional practice.Additional Requirements:

• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, spreadsheet, and professional presentation software.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Dietetics or related field from a University accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Masters Degree preferred Completed an ACEND®-accredited supervised practice program/internship at a health-care facilityLicense, Certification, Registration:
Pass the National Registration Examination within 6 months of hire Indiana State License obtained within 6 months of hire
