+ DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
+ The Clinical Dietitian, will provide education and training in diabetes management and medical nutrition therapy patients, and their families, if needed, and community groups as defined by their scope of practice. The clinical dietitian interprets diet prescriptions and maintains records of patient contact and conveys pertinent information to physicians, nursing staff and food service staff. Documentation in the electronic medical record includes the assessment, nutritional diagnosis, interventions, monitoring and outcomes. Educates patients and their families, as needed, on diet modifications and charges for appropriate services as dictated by policy. Develops and maintains good working relationships. The Clinical Dietitian will assist with diet management and documentation in the electronic medical record of the following: nutritional assessment, nutritional diagnosis, interventions, monitoring and outcomes. The Clinical Dietitians will share the duties and responsibilities for inpatient and outpatient care.
+ QUALIFICATIONS
+ Professional/Educational
+ Master's Degree in Food and Nutrition or Education preferred.
+ Four year degree in Dietetics.
+ Five years Clinical experience as Registered Dietitian preferred.
+ Must be Registered Dietitian and licensed by the State of Illinois.
+ Membership in Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and other related professional organizations is preferred.
+ Certified Diabetic Educator preferred and/or willingness to obtain certification.
+ *Dietitian will be credentialed according to Medical Staff process. As a part of the credentialing process, the selected candidate will start 90 days from the date of acceptance.

+ Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
+ Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
+ Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the units/areas/departments policies and procedures.
+ Must possess good social and communication skills.
+ Must demonstrate a commitment to quality and teamwork.
Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
